Have you too been a victim of a spurt in 'invites spam' on your Apple device? If yes, the company has a solution for you. Apple has rolled out a feature that allows users to remove spam invites from their calendar and report the sender.
The feature, called 'Report Junk', also allows users to block as well as report the sender to Apple. The 'Report Junk' feature is so far available only on iCloud's web client, but should arrive for iPhone and iPad users soon.
The issue is said to have peaked around Black Friday when users were bombarded by spam invites from retailers. Users can access the 'Report Junk' button in calendar invites from unknown senders.
Apple had previously apologized to users for the spam. In a statement to iMore, the company said, "We are sorry that some of our users are receiving spam calendar invitations. We are actively working to address this issue by identifying and blocking suspicious senders and spam in the invites being sent."
Apple today also released iOS 10.2 update. The update adds the government-mandated 'SOS button' to iPhones in the country. The update comes to iPhones running on iOS 10. Although the official changelog does not mention the SOS button feature, users in India can see the option after the update under the Settings>General menu.
Some other improvements and fixes have also been made in the 'Photos' section. The update brings more stability and improved accuracy while grouping certain photos automatically. Additionally there is a support for RAW digital cameras as well.
