Apple iPhone 7 Plus has a 5.5-inch Retina full HD (1080p) display with ion-strengthened glass on top. On the other hand, Google Pixel XL features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display with 1440x2560 pixel resolution. Having a pixel density of about 534ppi, Google Pixel XL is said to render everything from webpages to 4K videos to graphic-intensive games with crisp details.
Operating system
Apple iPhone 7 Plus runs on the latest version of the company's mobile operating system -- iOS 10. New features of iOS 10 include a redesigned notification tray and a smarter keyboard with intelligent suggestions. Siri is also said to be better in iOS 10 compared to previous versions. It takes commands faster, with almost accurate voice recognition.
Google Pixel XL runs on Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box and boast of Google Assistant. Powered by Artificial Intelligence, Google Assistant can schedule meetings and appointments, call contacts, open apps/settings, pull information (e.g. flight itinerary) from emails, serve traffic alerts, find recipes, manage invoices, make calculations and do a lot more.
Processor
Apple iPhone 7 Plus runs on the company's latest A10 Fusion chipset. As per most reviews, the device functions smoothly during multitasking and heavy gaming.
The Google Pixel XL, on the other hand, is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, comprising quad-core CPU (with two Kryo cores clocked at 2.15GHz and another two Kryo cores clocked at 1.6GHz), paired with an Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone gives blazing fast performance.
RAM and storage
The Apple iPhone 7 Plus comes with 3GB of RAM and is available in 32, 128 and 256GB storage options.
Google Pixel XL offers 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Google is also providing unlimited storage for Google Photos.
Camera
Apple introduced dual 12MP rear camera in its latest flagship. One 12MP camera has a wide-angle lens and other has a telephoto zoom lens. So in theory the second camera can be used to click photos zoomed at 2X, bringing objects closer. For this, in the camera app the user just has to click the 2X button and the image zooms bringing the second camera to life. There is also an 8MP selfie camera.
Google Pixel XL comes with a 12.3MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. To assist the camera, a two-tone dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus and laser autofocus are thrown into the mix as well. There is also an 8MP to camera for selfies.
Battery
Apple claims big battery improvements in iPhone 7 Plus smartphone. The company claims that it offers up to 21 hours of talktime on 3G and 16 days of standby time.
Google Pixel XL packs a non-removable 3,450mAh battery capacity. The company claims that it offers 32 hours of talktime on 3G.
